It’s back!!! The Firefighters Annual Picnic!!! On the weekend of September 13th and 14th, the Firefighter family once again convened for our traditional Barbeque and Picnic at Mission County Park! Thanks to the vision and dedication of Roger and Clay Garcia, who ramrodded the comeback of the time-honored tradition, and Clarence Sultenfuss who organized and managed an expert kitchen crew, the Firefighters get-together is back.

Thanks to all the firefighter family who responded to the call and volunteered to make the Picnic a grand success. This years’ Picnic revived a 54-year tradition where the firefighter family mingled with one another and the citizens they serve.

Together, all savored the many blessings of life and of our grand profession. Our family and our friends celebrated amidst the sweet smell of barbecue, the lively beat of the music, the laughter of the children and the warm buzz of friendly conversation. Children and adults alike laughed, danced and reveled in each other’s company, sharing warm embraces and fond memories.

It was good to return to our great tradition, to see all seasons of the firefighter family, from the young bucks, to the silver-haired retirees, to all in-between, come together in sacred and jubilant fellowship.

God has truly blessed us!
