San Antonio firefighters were hotter than a fire cracker, hotter than a steaming bowl of Wolf Brand chili, hotter than a 3rd alarm on the B shift . . . they were Hotter 'N' Fire!!

Fifteen San Antonio Professional Firefighters turned out on Friday, November 14th at Sunset Station for the First Annual Hotter-N-Fire Firefighters Auction to benefit the American Red Cross.

KENS 5's Bill Taylor and Lu Parker hosted the fun-filled evening as hot prizes and hot dates were auctioned off throughout the night. Eager members in the audience took turns bidding on the single, eligible, hunky, and glamorous firefighters in a waging war to win the privilege and thrill of owning the firefighter's company for a whole delicious evening.

Hotter 'N' Fire Firefighter Auction . . . benefitting the American Red Cross.

San Antonio firefighters put all fears aside for a good cause . . . they would confront stage fright, they would stare down their competition, and they stood bravely knowing they would return to some of the highest levels of fire house agitation . . . but it was all for a good cause, the American Red Cross.

Many laud firefighters as the nation's heroes but firefighters are willing to share the limelight with a true American hero, the Red Cross. This fine organization aids victims of disasters including floods, hurricanes, and fire. Firefighters can always count on the Red Cross at the scene of any prolonged emergency . . . hot and old drinks, cookies and snacks (gently aged), all served with a big smile (and  a hug if you're really lucky) from the tireless Red Cross volunteers.

And so it was time for the firefighters to come to the aid. Fifteen of our hunkiest and most glamorous firefighters strutted the stage and encouraged the crowd to up the bid for a good cause. By evening's end, $12,500 was raised for the compassionate Red Cross organization. Special thanks to those who responded to the call: David Prado, Juan Martinez, Eric Ruiz, Carlos Meza II, David Montalvo, Gina Mireles, Yvonne Garcia, Dan Stevens, Brooke Hildreth, Scott McCreless, Robbi Vosburg, Oscar Gonzales, David Madero, Jack Halpin and Mando Saucedo.
