Where is a copy of the contract or Collective Bargaining Agreement for Local 624 on this Web site?

You will find the entire contract, our Collective Bargaining Agreement, in our Web site by clicking here.

I’m a firefighter paramedic in Houston. I’m collecting information for an article I’m writing for the union paper. I was wondering how much your members pay for union dues. I suspect our monthly dues are below average.

The union dues for Local 624 are $24.20 per paycheck. We're paid every two weeks.

My name is Cindy and I live in Southern California. I'm currently taking courses to become a firefighter and will be applying for the 2005 academy. I would greatly appreciate any information you could give me on finding a one-on-one tutor that could help me prepare for the written test for the Southern California area. I realize you're located in San Antonio, Texas but I'm sending inquiries to any fire related authority within the United States.

I am currently enrolled as a junior at Churchill High School. My overall GPA is a B-, and I have not yet taken the SAT. I was wondering if you could send me some information on the requirements for becoming a firefighter. What should I do after high school and what training will I need. I'm trying to plan for the future, and I want to see if this would be right for me.

The City of San Antonio has information on their Web site at www.sanantonio.gov. You will find minimum qualifications, a study guide in .pdf, and more, on the pages of their Web site. We do not maintain the pages in the City of San Antonio's Web site.

The San Antonio Professional Firefighters Association is a union. Some time after you're hired by the City, you may join the Association.

What is the starting pay for your area? I'm currently in the fire academy in the southeast part of Texas. Also what are the current openings?

Salaries can be found on the City of San Antonio's Web site by clicking here. Current job openings are shown on this page. This may change from time to time, and remember, the San Antonio Professional Firefighters Association does not maintain the City of San Antonio's Web site.
