TEAM SAFD and the Tour de Cure
The Tour de Cure cycling trip from San Antonio to Austin is this weekend. The ride benefits the American Diabetes Association. TEAM SAFD, with many of your brother and sister firefighters, will be participating. After listening to the stories from the folks who rode in years past we are looking forward to a weekend of fun and adventure.
We would love to have you ride along. This ride will be well supported and will have riders of all abilities. Even if you are a beginning cyclist you will fit right in.
Too busy to ride but still want to participate? You can contribute to the rider of your choice by visiting our tour web site. Each rider must raise $150 so your contribution will definitely be appreciated.

The Susan G Komen Race for the Cure

The Susan G Komen Race for the Cure is this Saturday, March 29th. Firefighters and their families that are interested in racing or walking the 5K may sign up today, Thursday March 27th @ The Quarry Mall. Starting Friday, March 28th sign up will be in the Alamodome Parking lot, which is the same location, where the race will start and end. The San Antonio Professional Firefighters Association has a limited number of t-shirts available for purchase with the proceeds going towards the Susan G Komen Foundation.

EVERYONE PLEASE ATTEND TO VOTE ON BY LAWS AMENDMENT CHANGES
Recommendations from the Bylaws Committee on the language in Article XIV, Section 19, to include “The Insurance Committee shall act as an advocate on the behalf of the employee and his/her covered dependants concerning insurance benefits.
Recommendations from the Bylaws Committee on the language in Article VII, Section 1, to add “(He) or his designee” shall be a trustee of the Police & Fire Benefit Trust and Legal Trust by virtue of his office.
Recommended to add the language in Article VII, Section 2, to include “(He) or his designee” shall be a trustee of the Police & Fire Benefit Trust and Legal Trust by virtue of his office.
