Hello Team Eye Believe members,
The VisionWalk is rapidly approaching, only 4 more days. We need to work really hard during these last few days if we are going to surpass our team goal. I'd like to ask each and every one of you to recruit as many more team members as possible to sign up online and join our tream before Saturday. Ask all family members, friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc. Currently we have the team with the most members!!! Let's add more and keep it up to win the "largest team award"!! If you haven't signed up yet for the walk, please do so online. The link is at the bottom of this email.
Our team is doing GREAT-- keep up the good work! Our efforts will help drive the research that will provide preventions, treatments and cures for people affected by retinitis pigmentosa (RP), macular degeneration, Usher Syndrome, and the entire spectrum of retinal degenerative diseases.
Please use the available online tools to e-mail your friends, family and co-workers asking for donations. It's also a good idea to send one of the sample messages to anyone you think would want to participate with our team -- the more people, the better. Please don't forget to follow up with the people who have not yet responded to your solicitation, and send a thank you note to those who have made donations on your behalf. It's not too late to send out those emails!!
Let's do our part to support the Foundation Fighting Blindness.
Here are some notes to keep in mind for Saturday, pass them along to everyone you know that will be there:
Walk Day Notes:
Parking
Parking is available throughout the park at picnic areas, Joske Pavilion, and area past Joske and playground area (across bridge). Park at first opportunity or drop off walkers first then find parking. There is a new parking facility near Brackenridge Park!! The garage has 320 FREE parking spaces for Witte Museum and Brackenridge Park. To find the garage: after making the right on Tuleta, make the next right on Avenue B and you will see the parking area.
Money
Remember, if you have not already sent in your money, make sure you convert cash into a check and bring everything with you to the Walk. You should bring a completed walker envelope (it detaches from the brochure) with all of your checks inside.
What else should you bring?
Comfortable shoes
Sunscreen and a hat
Team signs, tents, or banners
Your team spirit and enthusiasm!
Fun activities starting at 9:00 a.m.:
