Dear Mrs. Moore: Though I never knew your husband, he is a firefighter and that is the tie that binds us all in brotherhood. May God comfort you in the days ahead, and remember that you have only to call and your firefighting family will be there. Our prayers are with you.

Dear Mrs. Moore (Maria) and Family: In February 1976, Travis and I attended the SAFD Training Academy together. Travis encouraged me when the training became difficult. I would not have graduated had it not been for Travis. It was his positive attitude and laughter that helped the entire class graduate together. We became close friends throughout our careers and he shall be missed. Travis was a person who give his all for his fellow firefighter. He was a great firefighter himself and loved his fellow brother and sister firefighters. Travis departure is a sad day for the fire service; however, we know that Travis is in heaven with St. Peter working as a firefighter. The fire service is now your adopted family who shall be there for you and your family whenever you need us. God bless you. We love you, Travis . . .

Memories: I met Travis my Rookie year, 16 years ago. We lived in the same area of town, south Bexar County. Travis had a vision to start youth sports in our area and he shared that vision with family and friends. Travis was the organizer, founder and first President of the Southside Junior Cardinals basketball league. I was privileged to work with him as Vice President and discovered that he not only was fun and a good agitator but that he truly cared about people. He had the perfect spirit to handle difficult situations and work through all kinds of people. He will truly be missed. After 15 years the Southside Junior Cardinals continue to provide over 300 children the opportunity to participate in basketball.

Memories: I had the privilege of transferring to 23's with Travis. He was truly a big man. He did everything big. Not only did he have fun at every corner, but he got dressed up for his days off from work. He would hit the shower before leaving the station and always came out dressed up and 'perfumed' up to go out somewhere to enjoy his next day(s) off. One of the best agitators this department had along with his tag team partner, Ray Perez. He could play some hoop, too. Take care up there, brother. Thanks for showing us how to live.

Memories: Liz, I can't imagine your loss right now but remember your loss is his PEACE. If there is anything I can do for you or the family do not hesitate to call me. Should you get medical bills I am sure Travis told you to bring all of it to me because he always did and that will continue . . . Travis left you in the arms of the San Antonio Firefighters Family which gave him PEACE also.
