My fellow firefighters, Travis Moore continues a good fight against cancer, but the cancer is well advanced and inoperable. On Super Bowl Sunday, Travis was admitted into a hospice clinic, but his choice was to die with dignity among family and friends at home. He was discharged Tuesday and with Chief Guerra's help is now at home.
 
On the evening of February 4th, the doctor suggested Travis might have only 24 hours more with us before the Lord takes him home. Last night and today he recognized and welcomed family and friends. He really lit up when his brother firefighters came to visit him.

His time has now grown short, and his lucidity is limited. Earlier today he had chosen to endure more pain and to limit as much as tolerable the pain-killing drugs, so he could maintain consciousness, and visit with and recognize people. That was earlier today. Now the cancer in his bones and elsewhere has become more painful and he is heavily medicated.
