SAPFFA Local 624 continues support of brothers in blue following approval of new contract Thursday
SAN ANTONIO, TX - San Antonio Professional Fire Fighters Association Local 624 announced Thursday its continued support of the San Antonio Police Officers Association (SAPOA), which approved a new contract with the City of San Antonio.
SAPFFA Local 624 is involved in a lawsuit similar to the lawsuit SAPOA members are facing.
"We support our brothers in blue and are looking forward to the City of San Antonio dropping its lawsuit against us so we can sit down at the negotiating table," said Chief Mark Black, the 1st Vice President and Negotiating Chair of SAPFFA Local 624.
As SAPFFA Local 624 has frequently stated in the past, its members are committed to moving forward and sitting down at the negotiating table within 30 days of the City dropping its lawsuit.
"Regardless of whomever is on City Council now or in 2017, we look forward to working with them on a contract that is not only fiscally responsible for the City of San Antonio, but beneficial to the men and women who have sworn to protect its citizens," said Black.
"We swore an oath that we will serve and protect this city regardless of the lack of a contract," said SAPFFA Local 624 President Chris Steele.
